Thank you for helping us grow!
The town of Hardin was named for Col. John Hardin who was killed by the Shawnee in 1792. Named as the first county seat in 1819, Hardin was soon replaced as the center of government in Shelby County, by Sidney, because of Sidney's location on the Miami River.
Hardin Park is best suited for picnicking. Whether you are looking for a place to take the family or someplace to leave work behind during your lunch, Hardin is the ideal spot. Historical Monuments in the park may also be of interest to visitors. Only 5 minutes west of Sidney on State Route 47, this shady little park makes a nice stop.
Take I-75 to State Route 47 W. Follow State Route 47 to the village of Hardin. The Park is located at the corner of State Route 47 and Hardin-Wapakoneta Road. A small parking lot is available off of Hardin-Wapakoneta Road.
